DIALECT OR ACCENT? HOW MANY ARE THERE?

Do you know what's the difference between a Dialect and an Accent?

A dialect is a set of variations of a language in a specific region of a country; these variations can be presented in dimensions like grammar, lexicon, syntaxis, phonology and semantics. Whilst an accent is a group of variations solely in phonetics and phonology in a certain region or space within a country.

Examples:
American Dialect: I have forgotten, biscuit (like a little cake), I have something. Pronunciation of R (rothic)
British Dialect: I have forgot, biscuit (for cookie), I have got something, no pronunciation of R at the end of a word or before consonants (Non-rhotic)
American Accent: Pronunciation of R (rothic), d instead of T
British Accent: no pronunciation of R at the end of a word or before consonants (Non-rhotic), full T

Have you ever seen this video before? Well, check it out.
Try to identify the 21 accents spoken by this lady. Can you do it?

Have fun mates
Cheers!
